Wicked Plants
at Turtle Bay Exploration Park
Exhibition Dates: TBD
Inspired by Amy Stewart’s “Wicked Plants: The Weed that Killed Lincoln’s Mother and other Botanical Atrocities,” this fun-filled exhibition curated by the North Carolina Arboretum gives students a safe, hands-on experience with some of the world’s most diabolical botanicals. Entering a ramshackle Victorian-era home, students travel from room to room to learn about various poisonous plants that may be lurking close by, discover a myriad of health effects caused by this bloodcurdling botany, and even investigate a crime scene in the potions laboratory! We recommend pairing this exhibition with a visit to our Botanical Garden.
Wicked Plants: The Exhibit is funded by The North Carolina Arboretum Society and the Creel-Harison Foundation. Above video owned and created by The North Carolina Arboretum.
