"I'm a member of Turtlebay because I feel it's really important to support the type of places that we want in our community, and Turtle Bay checks off a bunch of those boxes for me. It's got great trails, there are shady places to grab a picnic, and the botanical gardens are really beautiful." - Turtle Bay Member

"We are Members because we believe in Turtle Bay. We love coming here with the kids and we like bringing our relatives from out of town. Where else do you get to go where you can walk in and hold a nectar cup and have birds land on you? That's one of our favorite things about Turtle Bay, there are always hands on activities for the kids to participate in and we look forward to them being old enough to volunteer and spend even more time at Turtle Bay. It's just a really neat, hands-on experience."

Stimpel Creek

Stimpel Creek

This weekend at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, try your hand at moving water at our Stimpel Creek water feature in Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp! Experiment with the flow of a stream over a wooden flume; move water through channels; feel the force of water at the water wheel as you turn it - and have fun pumping water into the creek using the old-fashioned water pump, or simply enjoy the shade while watching others splash around in the cool water. Perfect for all ages!

From the Vault: Twenty Years. The Big 2-0!

Saturday, April 12, 1997, Turtle Bay Exploration Park (Then Turtle Bay Museums and Arboretum on the River) opened its first new, post-merger attraction, Paul Bunyan’s Forest Camp. The free event launched the beginning of the Turtle Bay build-out and was the first public physical manifestation of the hard work of The Forest Museum, founded 14 years earlier. The camp also provided a gateway for public access to the Interpretive Forest planted in 1992/1993.
