About Garden of Lights

Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day

A beloved tradition of Shasta County residents and out-of-town visitors, Redding Garden of Lights, presented by Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center, is the ultimate holiday outdoor experience. Featuring over one million lights and 10 acres of illuminated displays, Garden of Lights is an admirable world-class design.

The atmosphere is filled with holiday music, new and old; you may just be tempted to sing a tune! Along the route, indulge in creamy hot chocolate and s’mores kits from Mosaic Restaurant, along with gifts and souvenirs from our Holiday Shop.

Redding Garden of Lights is Turtle Bay Exploration Park’s largest fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting educational programs, museum exhibitions, animal care, and more. Turtle Bay Members receive $5 off each ticket. Click the button below to purchase tickets and learn more!

New Additions!

As Garden of Lights continues to grow and evolve, guests can experience more lights, more decorative displays, and more holiday magic! This year we have new additions for families to enjoy.

Magical Mosaic - We have transformed the Children’s Garden into a magical space filled with meteor shower lighting and tiny houses for kids to explore. Magical Mosaic also features an additional bar with holiday drinks and s’mores kits for the nearby fire pits. The focal point of this new area is the Mosaic fountain, featuring bright lighting to highlight the fountain’s beauty.

Moses the Reindeer - Remember Moses, Santa’s Reindeer? This year, visitors will have the chance to see Moses every night of the show! Our animal care team educates guests on reindeer behavior, diet, and adaptations, while sharing fun facts about the species, as well.

Open the first week in January - You may have also noticed that we are open the first week of January! Whether you’re traveling for the holidays or want the winter activities to last a little longer, visit Garden of Lights now through January 8.
