Rolling Ball Art - Gumball Machine
Monday, July 9, 1 - 3 p.m. (Workshop taught by Gary Chiles )
Have you been fascinated watching a ball roll down a labyrinth of twists and turns as it makes its way to the end? You may have seen Gary Chiles' captivating rolling ball art structures at businesses around Redding such as Grilla Bites and From the Hearth Café and Bakery. Well now you can learn the basics of this Rube Goldberg style art form while creating your own gumball art structure at Turtle Bay.

Jitterbugs
Monday, July 16, 1 - 3 p.m. (Workshop taught by Ada Rappeport)
Build your own toy that jitters across a table! In this workshop you will learn how circuits and unbalanced motors work while building a toy from scratch. Use a recycled CD and a DC motor and let your imagination fly!

Duct Tape
Monday, July 23, 1 - 3 p.m. (Workshop taught by Hannah Miller)
Originally invented for World War II, duct tape now inspires creativity and fun. In this workshop our duct tape makers will show you how to turn duct tape into "fabric" creations. Make a duct tape wallet, a belt, and even a baseball cap!

Make a Chocolate Powered Rocket
Monday, July 30, 1 - 3 p.m. (Workshop taught by DIY Redding)
Aim for the stars with this exciting chocolate themed workshop. DIY Redding will teach you how to power a rocket engine using a Milky Way chocolate bar! Then test it out and see if this chocolate idea will take flight!
